Usurp Synapse

Usurp Synapse was an screamo band from Indiana. The group combined fast and frantic grindcore influenced drumming and guitar work, and raw screams.
Usurp was born in Lafayette, IN. Through numerous line-ups they continued to push the envelope of the then-bugeoning "screamo" sub-sub-genre of punk rock. Their music was available on several compilations and 7" records, including a split release with Jerome's Dream, with whom they toured the United States, on Clean Plate Records. All their releases have been compiled and released on a discography CD, Disinformation Fix, on Alone Records. Antonio Leiriao moved from New York to Indiana to sing for the band in 1999.
The band utilized unconventional marketing methods, such as a die-cut album cover folded into the shape of a penis entering a vagina, and the inclusion of a razor with a record that promoted suicide on Electric Human Project.
Former members played in Fax Arcana, who have since disbanded.
They reformed as a 4-piece in the year 2004, recorded a full length album, then unfortunately had to cancel a UK tour in 2005 which was supposed to be with phoenix bodies. They have been inactive since.

We Were Skeletons

We Were Skeletons are a bunch of young bucks from Lancaster, PA who play loud music for reluctant listeners. Their songs sound like a mix of Capsule, The Kidcrash, Yage, and Off Minor, but probably aren’t nearly as awesome as that mix sounds. They formed in 2007 when they were still in high school, and they still pretty much act like it.

Transistor Transistor

Transistor Transistor started in a cluttered basement in Derry, New Hampshire in 2001. With nothing better to do than commit petty acts of vandalism, and practice all the time, the band got going quickly. By 2003 the band had toured relentlessly and worked with bands such as Wolves, Light the Fuse and Run, Daughters, Hot Cross, and Mannequin.

Welcome the Plague Year

Formed in 2003, Welcome the Plague Year was comprised of members from Joshua Fit for Battle and Neil Perry. They stacked mattresses against the walls of an old Philadelphia row home determined to continue making music together. The original members were; Christopher Smith, Larry Everet, James Walton, Kevin Hardy, Kerry Jo, and Jon Marinari. Hundreds of complaints, broken drumsticks, and power failures later, they emerged from the cloud of dirt and smoke up a creaky staircase ready to put their creations on tape.

Birds in Row

Too straight forward and too filthy to get back to the so-called hardcore fanbase that bloomed on Modern Life Is War’s grave, too kind to belong to the crust/sludge scene, the three hardworkers from BIRDS IN ROW seem to avoid their city as much as labels. Then you can still wonder where do they take place between Modern Life Is War, Kylesa or Cursed. The first ones for the guts unpacking and their heartbreaking spleen, the second for their punk roughness and their abilities to enlight dirt and the last ones for the urging adrenalin discharges. But it is certainly not that. It is hardcore as it is supposed to be played. Period.

A Light in the Attic

A Light in the Attic is a screamo band from California.
Members (ex or current or both) of Yaphet Kotto and Suicide Nation kick out the jams together. For a trio, this band makes a whole lot of noise – and it sounds fucking amazing! Take the monstrously epic Yaphet Kotto parts, some thrashing hardcore and the atmosphere of a good Black Metal record and you’re almost there.

Combatwoundedveteran or Combat Wounded Veteran were a hardcore punk band split between Ithaca, New York and Tampa, Florida heavily influenced by early grindcore, screamo, math rock and powerviolence. In their 7 years of existence they managed to put out several splits (including one with heavily influential screamo band Orchid, a 10" ep, one full length album and a posthumous release that compiles nearly all their splits and early eps. Though the band did not tour very often or put out many records their footprint is still visible in the screamo and powerviolence underground. The band was signed to famous Florida record label No Idea Records. Guitarist Chris Norris currently contributes his artwork to album covers for artists including Against Me!, Atom And His Package and Orchid.
